Women’s Health Program
Women’s Health is a type of physical therapy designed to treat issues that are more common in women. These may include urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, pelvic pain or pain with intercourse, and pain and weakness during pregnancy and after childbirth. The Proaxis Women’s Health team consists of four treating therapists who have a combined 25+ years of experience treating pelvic floor disorders. All of our therapists have been specially trained by the Women’s Health Section of the APTA on internal pelvic muscle techniques, and 2 are recognized certified specialists in the area of Pelvic Floor physical therapy (WCS). For the past three years we have been serving the Upstate and surrounding areas, currently treating over 70 women per week with urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, and pelvic pain. We strongly believe in using evidence-based practice to treat our patients and achieve the best outcomes possible.
