Will my insurance cover therapy?

Most insurance plans do cover therapy. We offer pre-certification specialists who will contact your insurance company, verify coverage, and help you understand what your insurance should cover and what you should be responsible for. Please refer to the Billing and Insurance page for more information on insurance verification.

Do I need a referral?

In South Carolina, you do not need a referral or prescription to see a physical therapist for up to 30 days. However, having a referral can be help with insurance reimbursement of the services provided. We will be happy to expedite your first few visits without a referral, but may ask you to seek a prescription from a physician after the first few visits. We have many physician partners we work with closely and can help facilitate this process for you.

What should I wear to therapy?

We suggest wearing loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your injured body part. If you are coming for a knee injury, we suggest bringing shorts for your first visit. If you are coming for a shoulder injury, a short-sleeve shirt or halter top is often helpful.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

  • Insurance card
  • PT/OT prescription
  • New patient paperwork packet available here: filling out the registration forms before you arrive will expedite the registration process.

How long will each session last?

Your first appointment will last approximately 40-60 minutes. After your initial evaluation, you can expect your following appointments to last between 40 minutes and an hour.

What are your hours?

Most clinics are open from 8am–6pm, 5 days a week. Please refer to the Locations page on our website for additional information.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, check, Visa and MasterCard.

Can I have treatment two days in a row or do I need to break it up?

During your first appointment, your therapist will conduct a comprehensive evaluation and discuss your plan of care, including the frequency and duration of treatment suggested to reach your goals.

Is it ok to see multiple therapists?

The ideal patient experience typically involves seeing one therapist consistently at every visit, and we strive to do this whenever possible. This is not always realistic based on the schedule that works best for you. Our therapists do work as a team; so, if your schedule works best to be seen by more than one therapist, you can be assured that both therapists will be in constant communication with each other about your progress. Our therapists have found that occasionally sharing ideas creates a better treatment plan for our patients, and we’re confident you will feel the same.
